Happy Medical New Year!
The medical profession is a noble one, where our husbands are entrusted with the well-being of others. Each day brings new challenges, new discoveries, and new ways for them to alleviate suffering. As their wives, it is our privilege to be their biggest support, encouraging them to use the gifts and talents bestowed upon them by our Creator to bring comfort, hope, and restoration to those who are hurting. As we embark on this new chapter of the medical new year, let us approach it with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication. Together, let us embrace the adventures and challenges that await, confident in the knowledge that the Lord is with us, empowering us to fulfill our calling with grace, skill, and unwavering compassion.
Departing International Regional Director
Rachelen Varghese has faithfully served as the Side By Side Executive Team as International Regional Director for many years. She has been instrumental in establishing numerous new international chapters across the globe, as well as providing ongoing care, guidance, and support to current chapters. But Rachelen's contributions extend far beyond her administrative duties - it is her warm personality, infectious humor, and genuine love for women that have truly set her apart. Rachelen has poured her heart into this ministry and we will deeply miss her presence in this role. We are excited to welcome Lindsay Ilgenfritz as our interim International Regional Director. We are confident that Lindsay will carry on a legacy of excellence and continue advancing the important mission of Side By Side on a global scale.
NatCon 2025
It’s not too soon to decide to be involved in what is happening for CMDA and Side By Side 2025- Registration for NatCon 2025 is already open! Titled “A Spoke in the Wheel,” next year’s convention will be held May 1st thru 5th in St. Charles, Missouri. "Early Early Bird" pricing will be available through September 10, 2024, with Early Bird pricing until January 14.
Marriage Enrichment Weekend
The next Marriage Enrichment weekend is in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan from October 4-6, 2024! The Marriage Enrichment Ministry was started by Christian Medical & Dental Associations® members who saw a need to minister to married healthcare professionals. This ministry provides four to six conferences per year, known as Marriage Enrichment Weekends to provide healthcare couples with an opportunity to nurture and grow in their marital relationships. The conferences are led by members of the Marriage Commission of CMDA. They have a three-fold format consisting of brief information sessions, private time for couples to work on assignments to assess their marital relationship, and small group sessions which address the unique needs and stresses of healthcare marriages.
The effects of today’s healthcare professions have taken its toll on marriages. Increasing time pressures, fiscal burdens, continuing education requirements, and countless demands have made building strong marriage relationships all the more difficult. CMDA recognizes a need to provide healthcare couples with an opportunity to nurture and grow in their marital relationships. The Marriage Enrichment Weekends offer a comfortable, get-away-from-it-all setting, allowing couples to communicate and experience a deeper appreciation for their marriage partnership.
